The Challenge
An enterprise client managing over 100 microservices and UIs faced significant challenges with decentralized authentication and inconsistent permission structures. Internal users were handled through Active Directory, while external users were managed via Okta. The lack of unified access control led to repetitive, custom implementations for each service, driving up development and management costs while leaving critical gaps in security.
To address these issues, Manifold implemented a centralized solution using Keycloak, streamlining authentication across multiple identity providers and introducing consistent, fine-grained permission management.
