We partnered with a healthcare organization to design and implement a scalable data processing solution built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The primary goal was to process eligibility, medical, and pharmacy claims data for self-insured employers. The system leveraged GCP’s Healthcare API, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and marketplace services to efficiently manage data ingestion, transformation, and FHIR resource organization.

Given the diverse data formats received, our solution staged raw data in Google Cloud Storage, where it was cleansed and curated using Google Cloud Functions. Processed data was stored in Mongo Atlas, enabling seamless transformation into relevant FHIR resources, which were then uploaded to the Google Healthcare API. This solution showcases the potential of leveraging GCP’s ecosystem to deliver a scalable, standards-driven healthcare data processing platform, overcoming technical challenges while maintaining compliance and performance.
